Choose from nine newsletters:
1) Vol. 1 shares a question sent in by a reader on the topic of shedding vs. breakage and the answer I gave her to help address her hair concerns. She was so pleased with the response, I thought other sisters might be interested. Hopefully you will enjoy it. 2) Vol. 2 offers insight to my natural sisters on how my 6-week regimen can benefit their hair, while answering the question of a visitor to our website. This is for any of you that thought that I forgot about sisters with natural hair. So if your, your children's, or your friends' hair is natural, or if you are thinking about growing out your relaxer and going back to being natural, this one's for you! 3) Vol. 3 is the hardest newsletter I have written so far. It discusses a popular question, "Why are we, as black women, losing our hair?" I know there have been books written on the subject, but this newsletter gives my humble opinion on the matter, and I "try" to offer insight and suggestions on what we can do to "keep" our hair and to get it healthier. This newsletter comes straight from my heart, as I am sharing thoughts I have had for the last few years about the state of "our" hair, but never had the courage to say. 4) Well I thought Vol. 3 was the hardest one I have ever written -- I was wrong. Vol. 4, "To Trim or Not To Trim" has been definitely the hardest newsletter I have written. It took me well over a month to write a two page newsletter! Anyway, I think it was worth the wait because this was not just business for me, it was PERSONAL! As before this is written from my heart, but this is based on experiences I have lived and struggled through and information I have researched and gathered from a number of different sources. All of this has allowed me to plan a course of action for me to continue on to reach my hair care goals, and I wish you the same. I hope you will find it interesting and helpful. 5) This was the most fun and exciting newsletter I have written so far -- I know it is the longest! :-) I called it, "Out With the Old, In With the New… What I Did Wrong in 2002 - 5 Resolutions for Me & You!" It talks about exactly what the name suggests, and I share mistakes I made in my regimen last year as I got lazy and distracted with other areas of my life (e.g., kids, trying to lose weight, other projects, etc.). The good part is that I also share what I did to get my regimen and hair back on track. These tweaks to my regimen feel really good, and I am enjoying the changes I am seeing in my hair. I hope you will too! I think 2003 is going to be a good hair year for us all! 6) VOL. 6 IS FINALLY AVAILABLE. I think it is one of the best and most important newsletters I will ever do, but I am sorry to say it is very long! It could not be helped because this is the most personal piece I have ever written, and I think the most worthwhile. I hope you agree, but I do think it could save your life!!!! 7) Vol. 7 "Overprocessed & Blue, Don't Let It Happen To You!" is available now!!!. This is me whining about the dangers & heartaches associated with chemical abuse where our hair is concerned. Hopefully it will help us relax and color a little less and hopefully a lot more carefully.
8) Vol. 8 "Hair-er-Cise Tips for Sisters Who Work Out" is finally available after months and months of procrastination on my part. I was struggling with trying to find a topic, and once I did, I struggled with my conscience because I wasn't even working out again, consistently, until about 2 months ago! Anyway, for all the ladies who have asked me to share ways to keep your hair looking good while working out, I am now able to give some tips that I have personally used before/after my hair is sweaty from working out. It may not be the end-all-be-all solution, but it is working for me, and I hope it will be of help to many of you! Enjoy!
9) Vol. 9 "Maybe Buns Aren’t So Boring Afterall…" This time you find you me venting after an upsetting visit to a hair salon. I thought I was done with those, but you always have to be careful. This hair nightmare led me to do some soul-searching and reflecting about how I will go forward in reaching my personal hair care goals. I will share my lessons-learned for anyone who is interested. So again, others may not repeat my mistakes, and putting it in writing so I won't either! :-) I hope you enjoy it.
